Border Profiteers is a community-driven investigation platform that exposes who profits in the business of borders. We connect data on companies, contracts, and funders involved in border control and migration management — transforming research into collective action.
Our aim: to give this industry a face, identify points of pressure, and help movements, journalists, researchers, workers and activists to organize and take action.
We use border profiteering to describe the extraction of profit from human displacement, detention and deportation – and all its secondary beneficiaries. This includes everything from selling weapons that fuel conflicts, to building surveillance systems, managing detention centers, and operating deportation flights as well as the supporting structures that power those sectors.
